General InformationThe majority of our clubs play their higher teams in the English North West League which provides a high standard for aspiring clubs. However, all put out a team in the North Wales League which is for competitive yet social hockey for adults. All our clubs run junior teams and young people or those young at heart wishing to give what is a demanding yet enjoyable sport a go should contact their nearest club. Links are provided (where available) above. Bangor University Men's HCBangor City HCBangor City have two sides, one in Division 9 of the North West League and the other in the NEWI North Wales League. Colwyn Bay HCColwyn Bay have three teams playing regularly each weekend. Two play in the North West League with the other playing in the NEWI North Wales League. Dysynni HCDysynni are a recent success story for Welsh hockey. They play in the NEWI North Wales League and won it last season. Llandudno HCLlandudno HC play in both the North West League and in the NEWI North Wales League. Newtown HCNewtown play their hockey in the Midlands set up being geographically closer to it. They compete in the NEWI North Wales Cup. Northop Hall HCFlintshire's only men's hockey outfit, it provides hockey from U11 to 1st team level and runs 5 Saturday teams (including a Badgers) and 1 Sunday team (in the NEWI North Wales League). Northop Hall is the largest club in north Wales and since its founding in the early 60s has been one of the most successful. The current holders of the NEWI North Wales Premier Cup. Along with Wrexham HC, it is currently the top club in north Wales. Oswestry HC**Oswestry, being a border town, has a long involvement with North Wales hockey despite being from Shropshire. It puts out a team in North Wales. It's first team play in Midlands Div 2 West. Rhyl HCRhyl proudly boast that they are the oldest club in Wales and have 4 teams, three of which play in the North West League with the other competing in the NEWI North Wales League. The club's first team have shot up the North West League since being admitted in 1999. Wrexham HCWrexham have four teams that play every weekend. Their bottom side competes in the NEWI North Wales League with their first three teams competing in the North West League. Along with Northop Hall, Wrexham is currently the top club in north Wales hockey.
